Redefining high-performance glazing

Helping our customers to see more clearly

ABOUT US

We are breaking the glass ceiling in window design

For 50 years, we have built our reputation as Cotswold Windows – delivering high-quality glazing solutions for residential projects across the UK. Today, that experience forms the foundation of UltraView: a new identity that reflects our focus on high-performance architectural glazing and our work on more complex, design-led projects. Working with pioneering systems such as Sky-Frame and MHB, we collaborate with architects, designers and homeowners to deliver glazing solutions for spaces that are shaped not only by how they look, but by how they perform.

Our Story

Timeline of 50 Years

1976

How It All Started

With a background in building and renovation work, founder Jon Davis is at the forefront of the emerging market for double-glazed aluminium and PVCu windows, which sets the direction for the business.

1984

Manufacturing Begins

Trading as Cotswold Windows, the company begins manufacturing its own windows and doors for local supply and installation, while also producing trade products for other businesses across the South of England, from Portsmouth to Padstow.

Contracts and Growth

The trade side of the business grows, leading to contracts with housing associations and local authorities. The business also moves into the light commercial aluminium sector, supplying schools and public buildings.

Design and Innovation

John’s interest in improving efficiency leads him and an engineering friend to design and build a bespoke Computer Numerical Control (CNC) saw, capable of matching – even improving – machines available at the time.

Smart Aluminium Systems

Early adoption of aluminium systems means the business now offers a wider range of modern products, including folding, sliding bi-fold doors, made popular thanks to a new TV programme for home-builders, ‘Grand Designs’.

The Growing Team

James Filmer joins the business as an installer, later moving into the office as Assistant Contracts Manager. This is to be the start of an enduring relationship, with James now Joint Managing Director.

A Purpose-Built Factory

To meet demand for aluminium and to expand commercial contracts across the UK and into Ireland, the company moves into a new facility in Toddington, designed to support efficient, modern manufacturing with investment in CNC routing machinery.

Sky-Frame Partners

Partnering with Swiss manufacturer Sky-Frame proves to be a visionary move for the business. Large, frameless sliding doors are largely unknown in the UK market, but soon become design staples among the growing, high-end residential sector.

Schüco Aluminium

As demand increases for larger, higher-performance glazing, the business partners with German manufacturer Schüco. This allows the team to cover almost every application across residential, trade and commercial projects, further strengthening technical capability.

A Strategic Change

Following the impact of COVID-19, rising energy costs and wider economic pressures, the decision is taken to cease in-house manufacturing and close the factory, refocusing the business on specialist, imported systems, Sky-Frame and MHB.
