We’ve opened our new showroom – and we’re rather proud of it
The vision for our new showroom was to create a space where people can experience premium glazing in a home environment.
What would a space look like that genuinely did justice to Sky-Frame and MHB steel windows and doors? Not a trade stand, not a catalogue brought to life, but somewhere with the considered atmosphere of a gallery – each system given the space and light it deserves, each detail visible at the scale it was designed to be seen at. Somewhere that feels less like a showroom and more like the kind of home these products are made for. Somewhere architects want to return to, bring their clients, linger over a coffee and talk through a project properly.
We think we’ve got there. Come and see for yourself.
A life-size gallery of glazing
The showroom follows the Sky-Frame showroom concept – calm, warm, full of natural light. Giant timber structures that frame the products, clean lines, a view out onto trees. When you walk in, it does not feel like a trade environment, it feels more like an exhibition or an art installation, a space that shows off the products at their very best.
Both Sky-Frame and MHB are displayed at full scale across a range of configurations – not as static exhibits, but as working systems you can actually interact with. The Sky-Frame corner sliding door assembly opens electronically at the touch of a button, two full-height glass leaves retracting to open an entire corner. It is, genuinely, one of those moments where your jaw drops – no specification sheet can prepare you for the precision or the synchronicity of the moving parts. It’s a work of art that opens and closes with a quiet calmness that befits its environment.
MHB steel windows and doors have their own dedicated area, where you can spend time with the system’s profiles, hardware and explore the beautiful Rembrandt colour palette. These are not the predictable RAL shades you have seen everywhere. They are deep, considered tones with real character, the kind that age beautifully and look better with every decade. Which feels appropriate, given that MHB carries a service life of over 100 years.
Light and atmosphere – and a bit of theatre
One of the things we are most proud of is what the Rako smart controls and XAL lighting systems allow us to do with the space.
XAL track lighting runs throughout the showroom – a DALI addressable scheme that lets us light each product zone exactly as it deserves, and adapt the whole environment as the day changes. For client meetings it is bright and clear. For evening events it is something else entirely.
Rako’s EOS keypads sit flush on the walls – beautiful objects in their own right, and completely intuitive to use. A single press shifts the lighting across the whole showroom and, at the same time, can trigger the automated Sky-Frame corner doors to open. It sounds like a small thing. In practice, it is a genuinely memorable moment for anyone visiting for the first time.
We wanted to demonstrate how a room can change at the touch of a button; that glazing, lighting and automation – when they are properly thought through together – create something greater than the sum of their parts. The showroom makes that argument better than we ever could in a conversation.
A working space for architects and clients
We have spent years building relationships with architects across the region and beyond, and one of the things we hear most often is how useful it would be to have somewhere to bring clients – somewhere they can see and feel these systems properly before committing to them. This is that place.
Bring a client who is uncertain about full-height glazing and let them stand in front of the Sky-Frame corner door as it opens. Bring a client who is torn between glazing systems and let them feel the craftsmanship that is handcrafted into every MHB steel frame. Use our design space for a proper project conversation. Stay for a coffee. Come back.
We are genuinely invested in the glazing projects we are involved in – not because we have to be, but because this industry works best when it is collaborative. The showroom is our way of making that collaboration easier, more productive and more enjoyable.
A new vision for the future
This year, we mark 50 years in the glazing industry – and the opening of this showroom, alongside our rebrand from Cotswold Windows to UltraView, feels like the right way to step into the next chapter. Not looking back, but with a clear sense of what we have built and where we are headed.
We are the UK’s largest dedicated Sky-Frame showroom and the country’s only dedicated MHB showroom. We are proud of that. We are even more proud of the space itself.
Come and see what we’ve been working on.
